SYNOPSIS
Artless Bastard Gallery is calling for 2D and 3D works of art, in all mediums - excluding performance art - for the HOME group show.
Submit your original artwork where the theme is all about HOME. What is HOME to you? Is it a space, a location, a smell or a person? Show us what makes you feel at HOME. Show us what is HOME to you.
IMPORTANT DATES
OPENING RECEPTION: Thursday, January 20th,2022 6-8pm SHOW CLOSES: Saturday February 19th, 2022
DROP OFF IN PERSON: Sunday, January 16th and Monday January 17th from 11-2pm each day.
PICK UP IN PERSON: Sunday, February 20th, 2022 and Monday, February 21st, 2022 from 11-2pm each day.
SHIPPING: Once you have received acceptance to the show you can ship immediately. Artwork needs to arrive no later than Jan 18th to be included in the show for shipped items. Artless Bastard, 353 Suite A Main Ave, De Pere, WI 54115. Include a return shipping label. We recommend FEDEX or UPS.
PRESENTATION READY
2D WORK: All 2D work must be ready to hang on a wire and framed or gallery wrapped canvas, or other mounting method. Size limit on 2D work is no larger then 4ft on any side. 3D WORK: All 3D work must be able to fit through a door frame and any display method that accompanies the work. Framing is recommended to showcase your artwork and protect it. It also adds value to your piece.
SUBMITTING IMAGES
Be sure to label your images being submitted as follows lastname.title.jpg Example: arnold.purpleflowers.jpg. Be sure to resize the images you are submitting as well. You do not need to submit a full resolution jpg. No larger than 1900 pixels on the longest side at 80dpi. Submit either, jpg, pdf or png files.
COMMISSION/ARTWORK SALES
All artwork must be available for sale. Artists can determine their own pricing or ask for guidance. Artists receive 60% of the sale and the gallery retains 40%. Gallery commissions go toward marketing, advertising of the shows and general maintaining the gallery.
DELIVERY & SHIPPING
Artists are responsible for delivering their own work. The gallery will open for special hours for a period of 2 days to accept incoming work. Work that arrives damaged will not be displayed. Artists who are shipping their artwork are responsible for shipping & insurance. If you are shipping you MUST enclose a paid return shipping label or you will be charged for a return shipping fee OR EMAIL LABEL WHEN THE SHOW CLOSES. Once delivered and hung, works may NOT be withdrawn by the artist before the prior to the end of the show. We recommend UPS or FEDEX for shipping. NO PEANUTS WHEN PACKING YOUR ART. DO NOT OVER-TAPE PACKING MATERIALS! LESS IS MORE
COMMISSION PAID
All payments will go out within 15 days after the CLOSING date of the show. Checks will be mailed to the address you listed on the your submission FORM. Be sure you fill the whole form out. The price you list on the ACCEPTANCE FORM is also the price that will be listed on your artwork title card and the price used to calculate the commision due to the artist. If a customer is interested in your work but looking to negotiate the price the gallery will reach out to you FIRST and you can decide if you'd like to lower the price.
PRIZES AWARDED
Best in show will be voted on in person and we will also open it up online as well. The most votes will receive a $100 cash prize. One vote per person.
RETRIEVAL OF UNSOLD ARTWORK
You will be notified if your artwork has been sold before the end of the show. Any unsold artwork must be picked up on the two days listed under dates above. If you can not make either of those days please arrange to have someone else pick up your artwork. For shipped items your return label will be used to return items to you. If after multiple attempts to contact the artist who's work remains unclaimed and no arrangements have been made the artwork becomes the property of the gallery and will donated or sold.
COPYRIGHT
All artists are responsible for ensuring their subject matter does not include any copyright infringements. The artist waives Artless Bastard, Inc of all legal responsiblities if an artist is challenged by another party for copyright infringement. By submitting your artowrk you are confirming you ahve secured any required releases and are not in violation of any laws.
MEDIA & PROMOTIONAL CONSENT
All artists agree that if their work is shown in the gallery the gallery may use images of their work for event marketing & promotion on our website and social media outlets.
